This premium hand-crafted amber ale is a unique brew of three malts and three Tasmanian hops added late to the kettle plus an original 125 year old, top fermenting ale yeast.
Nine Tales alludes to the many stories of brewing legend James Squire (1754 – 16 May 1822), a convict transported to Australia who founded Australia's first commercial brewery in 1798. Aside from being a convicted chicken thief and convict, Squire later found success as the Governor's bodyguard, a publican, baker, butcher, money lender, a local constable, and of course what he is most famous for, a legendary brewer.
An easy drinking, deep copper coloured ale with distinct richness, creamy head, and a slightly nutty finish
Like other Amber Ales, this is a good all-rounder beer for food matching. Perfect with lamb and mint sauce or a gourmet meat pie, or a great thirst quencher for Barbeque or mexican dishes. The nutty flavours provide a good match with European style cheeses.
